Experience the traditional South Indian temple architecture in this temple that holds a 3000 year old history. The interesting thing about this temple is the stark difference between the skills that have been used to sculpt the face and the body of the idol.The idol was created and consecrated by sage Bogar of an amalgam of nine poisonous substances or navapashanam, that legend says turned out to be an eternal medicine. Villagers believe that the Rakkala chandanam (sandal paste placed overnight on the deity idol) distributed among believers has medicinal properties that can cure many illnesses.

Best time to visit: All year round and specially during the Ther Thiruvizha (car festival) for Lord Muruga that takes place annually.

The Pillar Rocks

The name is derived from three vertically positioned boulders reaching up to a height of 400 feet. It’s a perfect picnic spot with a beautiful mini garden and a birds eye view of nearby surroundings. The 'white cross' which once existed on these rocks represented David Gell's excellent tribute to love and the view of the rocks standing out amongst the surrounding hills is a soothing treat to the eyes. The street food served outside the mini garden is not be missed.
